4 Black Owned Beauty Brands You Need to Know

As a Black woman I am always eager to support Black owned companies, so I decided to do some research and find a few Black owned beauty brands that I have never tried before. All of these brands create wonderful products and I am sure that you will find something that you will love. Some of the products I have tried and some I haven’t but this is just a general haul post of what I ordered from each brand.

I am 100% sure that I am in LOVE with these Whipped Custard Body Soufflé Creams ($14) from Bekura Beauty. They smell amazing and they made my skin feel soft and moisturized all day long. They are a “blend of African shea fruit enhanced with cooling aloe vera, illipe seed butter & rich oil embellishments of organic Coconut, Olive & Grapeseed – formulated to soothe skin tightness & combat ash.” I purchased two creams in the scents Orchid Milk & Lavender and Barbados Pecan. If you like the scent of lavender I would definitely recommend the Orchid Milk (a blend of black lavender absolute, iris and milk, and oakwood), the scent is extremely calming and will put you in a great mood. The Barbados Pecan (a blend of muscovado brown sugar, vanilla brûlée, and pecan) smells like walking into a kitchen of fresh baked cookies, it is absolutely wonderful. Bekura Beauty also sells hair care essentials, bath and body products, and much more.

Foxie Cosmetics

I purchased two face masks from Foxie Cosmetics, the Pink Slime, ($35) a deep hydrating face mask, and the Apparition ($30), a skin renewal and hydration face mask. All of their products are vegan and handcrafted in Nashville, TN. Since I have been experiencing super dry skin lately (which is weird for a normally oily girl) I tried the Pink Slime and it made my skin feel extremely hydrated and plump. After one use and a few other hydrating products my skin is back to normal so I would definitely recommend this mask to anyone with dry skin. Foxie Cosmetics also sells bath bombs and soaks, skincare essentials, body care essentials, hair care, fragrances, and more.

NolaSkinsentials

From Nolaskinsentials I purchased the Eden Glow Body Scrub ($15) and the Plumberry Body Polish ($10). Both of these products smell AMAZING. The body scrub is said to alleviate dryness and leave your skin glowing with an allover body shimmer. After trying the scrub my skin felt extremely soft and moisturized with an INSANE glow. It will definitely be my go to for the summer. The body polish is said to “gently remove built-up oil and dead skin cells to leave your skin silky smooth, coated with a unique glow and smelling delectable”. All of their items are handmade, 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and paraben-free. Exfoliating is an important step in taking care of our skin and I always love how smooth my body feels after so I am very excited to use these two. Nolaskinsentials also sells skincare essentials, body soaps, razor bump serum, and more.

Form Beauty

I love how Form sells their products. You can buy the individual products or you can buy them in a set tailored to your specific needs. They also recommend that you take their test to determine what products will work best for your specific hair needs and then put together a package of products specifically for you! I purchased the Bounce Curl Set ($34) which is a travel sized set meant to pamper your curls and “help you to unlock their deepest potential every time you step out”. It came with products to wash my hair with, Clarify and Cleanse shampoos which wash away impurities and buildup without drying out your hair and Hydrate conditioner to soften and moisturize your hair without weighing it down. A product to prep my hair, Multitask, a leave in conditioner, daily moisturizer, and style refresher all in one. And lastly a product to style my hair with, Define is a curl creme meant to elongate your curls with shea butter, sweet almond oil, and jojoba oil to enhance your natural texture, reduce shrinkage and control frizz. I am very excited to try these products and they will be perfect for when I take my current protective style down. Form has many different products for any hair type.

I am so happy to have discovered these brands and I am excited to try their products. Do you have any favorite Black owned companies? I would love to try them out so leave some recommendations in the comments below!
